South Africa: My Favourite Photos of Cape Town

Hey friends! So this post somehow got forgotten in my drafts, I guess just before life amped all the way up as I prepared to leave for India. Yes! I went to India, and then right after I came back life was even more topsy turvy. More on all that later, but for now I still want to share these beauts with you: all my favourite photos of Cape Town.

In the beginning you’ll see the only “one that is not like the others.” It’s actually from Joburg: the street scene that met me my first day as I walked down Fox Street to acquaint myself with the neighbourhood.

Following that are the cute penguins from Boulders Beach and more snaps from my hike up Table Mountain. None of my other articles touched on the fantastic place I stayed for my friends’ wedding, but I’ve included pictures of my room to remedy that. It was a dream and I would love to go back! The post rounds up with a few pictures from wedding festivities at the Vrede en Lust estate. I hope you enjoy the views.

I saw these guys at least once more while I stayed in Maboneng, so this must be their regular spot. It was a fun surprise to watch them this first time though!

You can get within petting distance of African Penguins at Boulders Beach, although you’ll have to resist temptation as touching them is forbidden.

I hiked Table Mountain with a company aptly named Hike Table Mountain. It was a fun, sometimes challenging 4 hr trek in the best weather. Our route went up one of the 12 Apostles, a trail I would happily repeat, but there are other ways up the mountain to try as well.

This is the Serene studio at La Bella Vita Studios. It took me several hours to get used to the fact that the room was truly mine. I’d never stayed anywhere that nice before, and on top of that had slept in hostels for the first part of my journey. I felt like a princess! Just ask the family and friends who got my thrilled videos and voice notes ;). I slept like a baby and read at the window seat – a thing I’ve wanted from childhood. In fact, minus the television and plus some plants and art on the walls, this is basically my bedroom aesthetic.

We celebrated Quistmas at the gorgeous Vrede en Lust estate, a few minutes drive from my accommodation at La Bella Vita. The valley was breathtaking, and the reception design was straight from a fairy tale!

There you have it! I think this about covers all my favourite photos of Cape Town. If you’ve never been I hope this inspires you to go one day. South Africa in general is an amazing country and I’m sure you’d agree if you got to see for yourself. 🙂
